Each week is a new opportunity for us. Each day brings us its own rewards and challenges. We can be assured that each of our days is filled with the love of God and His divine guidance.
As Christians, we must be grateful to God for the gift of a new week. At the same time, we must also be aware of and ready for the challenges and difficulties that we might face during this new week. And so, it is very important for us to approach God in prayer and humility to seek His providence and grace to start the new week, to go through them in confidence, and to close it with gratitude and fulfillment.
Each new week brings us new hope. These prayers will help us thank the Lord for a new week, humbly submit ourselves to His will, and lovingly ask Him for His unending guidance throughout this week.
Prayer for a blessed week
Father, creator, and giver of all that is good, I praise and magnify You for all the graces You have bestowed upon me. I thank You for the gift of life. I thank You for the strength to carry on and move forward with the daily demands of life. I thank You for all the opportunities for growth and holiness.
Dear God, in a very special way, I thank You for the past week. Thank You for leading me day by day. The past week has been quite challenging, but Your grace and providence enabled me to tread the week successfully. I am in great awe and gratitude for Your unending love and guidance. I am grateful that You have given me the health and strength I need to conquer all of life’s obstacles. Thank You for always loving me despite the times I may have let You down.
God our Father, I start this new week as I approach Your throne of majesty and grace. Thank You for this new week of experiences, learning, improvement, and opportunities. May I see Your guiding hand in all circumstances of life. May I be directed by Your presence and grace.
Lord my God, please provide for me in every manner this week. I humbly request a blessing from Your inexhaustible generosity. May anything I put my hands to should succeed, and may doors open for me and benefit me.
Without you, Lord, I am sure that this week would be a disaster, so I humbly ask that You accompany me. Make all crooked paths straight. Amaze me with Your wonders. Generously fill me with Your joy. The coming week excites me and, at the same time, brings me some worries about the unknown. I beg You to direct my actions so that I can make the wisest choices. Please let me speak and act as You will.
Heavenly Father, may this week bring glory to Your everlasting name. May this week bring me a step closer to You. May this week be sanctifying. May I see You in all that I do and all that I will encounter.
Through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Prayer to Saint Lazarus Devasahayam for a new week
Beloved Saint Lazarus Devasahayam, you were graced by God to be India’s first layman elevated to the altar of sainthood. How blessed are you to enjoy the presence of God face-to-face! In the increasing hardships you endured because of Christ and your faith, you were rewarded by God with an everlasting crown.
Saint Lazarus Devasahayam, you are now referred to as the patron saint of new beginnings. Hear my humble prayer as I begin this new week. Help me to remember that God is with me and will never leave me all the days of my life.
Intercede for me that in every person I will encounter and every experience I will face this week, may I see God in and through them. May I be filled with the grace and wisdom of God to speak only when necessary and to act under His guidance and prudence.
Pray for me that the days of this new week be opportunities for me to grow and mature. May each of these new days bring me to God. May this new week be a holy and acceptable sacrifice to Him.
Saint Lazarus Devasahayam, remind me that a new week can also bring me new challenges. When the day runs smoothly, may I be grateful to God. When the day closes with disappointments and unfinished tasks, may I call on God for strength and perseverance. Whether the day is easy or not, may I bring glory and honor to God. Help me to rely entirely on the Lord God rather than on my own understanding. Give me the courage and discernment to follow Him as He leads me in the right direction.
Saint Lazarus Devasahayam, patron saint of new beginnings, pray for us. Amen.
Further reflection
A new week can bring us hope and excitement. It is like an adventure waiting to unfold. But at the same time, a new week can also give us new challenges and worries. Either of these, we can rely on God for help and guidance.
Just like any of our endeavors, it is fitting to always seek and ask for the help and grace of God. A new week is a privilege and a gift, but it is also a new opportunity to grow and develop. And growing is sometimes quite challenging and uneasy. And so, let us always ask for the providential care of God in our lives.
Let us always remember that God accompanies us every day and in all ways. This new week, may we encounter Him in every individual we meet and in every situation we will be in. Entrust everything to Him, and this new week will all be well.
