A prayer for my sister’s healing and wellness

What’s the most wonderful thing that a sister has done for us, and how did we reciprocate her kind gesture? Sisters are blessings sent by the Lord to remind us that love, kindness, compassion, and courage should prevail in our hearts. They may not have always been the perfect siblings, but their presence in life is a reminder of God’s grace. Big sisters watch over us as our second mothers, and little sisters open our eyes to how beautiful life can be when viewed with positivity and childlike wonder. 

Ask God to bless and protect our sisters with this prayer for siblings, and remember to check in on them often. 

A prayer for my sister

Our Father in Heaven,

Great is thy faithfulness unto my family and me. It was You who helped us survive seasons of struggle and hardship, and it is Your Name that we shall praise in seasons of joy and abundance. We are a household of faith, and we will forever sing praises to Your Name. 

Forgive me for the times when I fell from grace and brought shame upon myself and my family. My guilt follows me everywhere, and at last, I lay them before You. I place my faith in You, my eternal Redeemer, and your son Jesus Christ, the promised Messiah and my great Savior. 

Thank You for the gift of life, gift of friendship, and the gift of family. No words can express how grateful I am to have a loving and inspiring sister who sets a good example for me. She is strong in times of adversity, kind when the world is cruel, and generous even when she barely has anything to give. Thank You for building her into a good woman and a brilliant daughter and sister. 

With a worried heart, I offer You this prayer for sisters. You alone know her woes, troubles, and fears. As her family member, even I don’t know about everything that goes on behind her smiles, and I fear the day that I fail her as a sibling and friend. I love her beyond measure, and although we’ve had our quarrels as siblings, no friend will ever feel as close, special, trustworthy, and loyal as my dearest sister. It will break my heart if something bad happens to her. I never want to see her in pain or sorrow, so I beg You, O Lord, to protect her and guide her through challenges in life. May You heal her from the things I don’t know about. She is a strong person, but like any other person on earth, she cannot withstand hardships without You. 

On her darkest days, may You shine Your light upon her and remind her that she is never truly alone in her journey. With this prayer for healing for my sister, may You drive away her pain and sadness.

Divine Comforter, 

Be with my sister during the darkest times of her life. I may not always be there to comfort and care for her, but I know that You are always watching over her. May You be ever gracious with her and bless her with healing, strength, courage, and wisdom in times of trials. Heal her from all ailments and give her things to smile about. May you grant the righteous desires of her heart.

Intercessory prayer to Saint Raphael the Archangel

Holy Saint Raphael, 

I am in awe of your majesty, and I admire your loyalty to the Lord. You’ve steadfastly guarded His people and brought healing to the sick. Thank you for your ever-faithful service and dedication to ensuring that goodness and righteousness prevail in the world. 

I beg you to carry a prayer for my sister to the Lord and ask Him to heal her and protect her from harm. We may have our separate paths in life, but I will always be here for her, just as she is one call away when I need help. Stand guard over her and soothe her in times of despair and hardship. Strengthen her and clothe her in courage and wisdom. Equip her with the sword of truth and the shield of God’s protection so she can conquer any evil.

Further reflection

Siblings are blessings in disguise. Although we may have squabbled often with our sibling/s when we were younger, nothing beats a sibling’s love. Sisters, in particular, can be caring and strong for their siblings when needed. They’ve seen the best and worst parts of us and still love us for who we are. As we grow up, we realize that we can have all the friends we want, but none of them can beat a sister’s loyalty, love, and friendship. When our parents are not around, who else will take care of us and stick up for us but our sister?

As we grow up, we each choose our own path and follow it. We explore the world and embark on a journey called life. But that doesn’t mean that we lose support from each other. The Lord commands us to love our siblings dearly. Wherever we may end up in life, remember our sister, and be there for her just as she was with us when we needed her most.

Whether we feel distant from our sister or we want to help her recover from sickness or hardship, there are a few ways we can bond with her and realign ourselves with God. Reading or sending Bible verses and words of encouragement to each other can greatly strengthen not only our bond as siblings but also our faith in the Lord. If she’s suffering from a medical condition, go with her during her check-ups and pray for her, especially if she has no one else to support her. Even spending holidays together, like Christmas and Thanksgiving, can add an element of happiness to our relationship, making us look forward to seeing each other again because of the festivities. 

Take a few minutes every day to offer a prayer for siblings to the Lord and ask Him to watch over us always.
