Life is the most precious gift we have ever received from God. Life becomes more meaningful and beautiful when two people meet and love each other as husband and wife. This union of a man and a woman reflects the love of Christ for the Church, His Bride.
As a cherished gift from God, we must celebrate life. That is why we joyfully commemorate the day of our birth – the day when we first saw the light of this world. Moreso, for couples who have become one in the Sacrament of Matrimony, the gift of life for a husband and a wife is even more celebrated.
Celebrations usually revolve around parties, sumptuous food, and families and friends gathered in a joyful ambiance. But most importantly, when the husband celebrates his day of birth, the wife shares joy and thanksgiving for this wonderful day. These prayers are for wives who are grateful to God for their husbands as they celebrate their birthdays.
A thanksgiving prayer on my husband’s Birthday
Loving and faithful God, I praise and thank You for the gift of life. Thank You for giving us the opportunity to experience life and the beauty of Your creation. We magnify Your holy and venerable name for this most precious gift You have shared with us.
Father God, You are the one who has given this day several years ago. We remember Your goodness and generosity for giving life to my husband. My husband is my stronghold in both good and bad times. He deserves to feel the love of everyone he showers with love every day, so let this special prayer be for him.
In a very special way, I thank You for the gift of life of my husband. Today, we celebrate the day of his birth. My heart is filled with gratitude for my amazing and loving husband, who goes above and beyond. He is the best husband that any woman could ever ask for. Remind me to express my gratitude to Him every day but even more so on this day.
I prayed to You for a trustworthy partner. You bestowed upon me a best friend who is too magnificent to be merely a friend. You have given me more than what I asked for. I reflect today on where we came from and where we are now. May You provide my husband with great birthday blessings.
Great God, bestow upon him all the choicest blessings he deserves. Grant him health in body and spirit. Keep him from all sickness and evil. Keep him safe under the shadow of Your divine protection. Please shower my husband with Your love today, and let us shower him with lots of love to remind him how much we appreciate the love he has shown his family.
Father, grant that my husband always has the knowledge to guide us correctly. May he always be happily surprised in some way. May today signal the start of more fortunate tidings. May he gain knowledge, understanding, and an even greater love for You as he ages. I hope when he looks back, he will always remember this year. May he grow old in Your love and companionship. May he always be grateful for Your favor.
Through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Prayer to Saint Andrew the Apostle for my husband
Dear Saint Andrew, the first to be called by the Lord Jesus to be His apostle, you are also known as the saint to be invoked for helping women find good men. As you have introduced your brother Peter to Christ, I believe that through your prayers and intercession, God has willed me to meet my husband. For this, I thank you for introducing us to our vocation to married life.
Saint Andrew, as you have directed Peter’s path toward meeting the Lord, please also lead my husband to a deeper and more intimate relationship with God. Direct his every step so that he may grow closer to the Lord. May he love God above all things, and may this love he has for God be extended to the people around him.
Please pray for him to God that he may remain faithful and committed to our vocation as a married couple. Inspire him to continue to be a good man. May he be encouraged by your holiness and genuine following of the Lord.
Intercede on my husband’s behalf so that God may continue to bless him with all the good things he needs. May he be kept from any harm and evil.
Saint Andrew, as we celebrate my husband’s birthday, please remind him that his life and all the good things he has are all from God. May he always remember the goodness and generosity of God. May he always be humble and grateful. Pray for him to God that he may continue to discern and fulfill the will of God for him and for us.
Saint Andrew the Apostle, pray for us. Amen.
Further reflection
We celebrate birthdays in order to honor the day when a special human being entered the world. Birthdays are an opportune time for us to be grateful to God for the life we have received and for all the blessings He bestowed on us.
For a husband and a wife, celebrations like birthdays should be celebrated as if it is the birthday of them both. The life of one should be celebrated by both of them. This is exactly what it means to be one’s better half. When one is grateful, both are grateful. When one celebrates, both are celebrating.
As we honor the day of birth of our husbands, may we be reminded of God’s goodness toward both of us. Ask Him to bless our husbands even more, and the blessing also extends to us. Thank the Lord, for He has given us a friend, companion, partner, and loving husband.
God is awesome
