Prayer for help with problems I’m currently facing

Every day is a challenge we need to overcome. In each challenge, we might face a series of problems that might overwhelm us and cause stress, anxiety and other mental health concerns. During these times, we sometimes lose hope as we feel that we don’t know where to go and don’t know who to lean on anymore.

When we feel alone, this prayer can help us lift our worries to God as we communicate with him. Feel every word of the prayer as we say them, as we surrender our problems to Him. Difficult times are inevitable but know that God is always with us to guide us and help us.

Prayer for help with problems

God Almighty,

My heart is full of worries and uncertainties because of the situation I am in. I feel confused, alone, restless and hopeless as I fall deeper into the problems I am facing at the moment. Whenever I try to solve them, I feel that my efforts are futile as the problems are neither going away nor getting better. I have made plans on my own, but all of them failed, and I know now my Lord, that it is because I didn’t plan them with You.

Forgive me, my Lord, for I have been feeling lonely that I have forgotten Your promise of presence. I have forgotten that You are always with me. I have forgotten to praise You and tell people of Your blessings. I’m sorry that I isolated myself instead of calling your name. I am sorry that I have forgotten to pray.

I am lifting up all my sorrows to you, my Father, that you may take away all these burdens I carry in my heart and in my mind. I pray oh Lord, that I may find peace and rest in Your presence. I surrender to You; may you take control of my life and let me accept that Your will shall always be and what should only be done. You know my heart’s desire; I put all my trust in You, God the Father. Let me come to You and rest upon your goodness and grace, that my energy be restored and my hope be renewed. May you shower me with your mercy so I can face every obstacle in my way.  May You touch my heart so that I will always be reminded that Your plans for me, and not my plans, should always prevail. May You always enlighten me so that even in my darkest times, my faith is strong, and my heart will continue to praise you.

All these I pray, along with praises and worship, in Your Holy name.

Short prayer for overcoming obstacles

Dear Lord, As I struggle with my problems today, I humbly ask for guidance and strength so I may overcome what’s ahead of me. As you are the giver of rest, I lift up my worries and uncertainties to you so that I may be free from restlessness. Please touch my heart so I may never forget that even in the darkest times, You are with me every step of the way. All these I pray in Your Holy name. Amen.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that he may exalt you in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you. Discipline yourselves; keep alert. Like a roaring lion your adversary the devil prowls around, looking for someone to devour. Resist him, steadfast in your faith, for you know that your brothers and sisters in all the world are undergoing the same kinds of suffering. And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, support, strengthen, and establish you. Prayer to Saint Jude Thaddeus for help with problems

St. Jude Thaddeus, as one of the apostles of Jesus Christ, you have fulfilled your mission and continued to spread the goodness of the Lord despite the many obstacles you faced. You were able to power through after objections and rejections.

I feel I am not the strongest, and difficult challenges sometimes almost break me. The tougher the challenge, the more I get lost in life and in my relationship with God.

I humbly ask that you strengthen my prayers to the Lord our God. With your help, I know the Lord will hear my woes and bless me with mercy that all my worries be removed. With you as our role model and with God as our rock, may we be able to overcome the obstacles that are currently in our way.

Further reflection

Problems come in different forms and will always be part of our lives. No matter what our stand in life is, problems will make their way to us. In nature, humans will feel stressed, worried and distressed knowing this fact of life. But should we be afraid? The word of God says, “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that he may exalt you in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.”

We shouldn’t be afraid because He cares for us. The Almighty God knows our sufferings and how our hearts are tainted with sorrow when we encounter problems. But we can rest assured that He cares and will never leave us. The Lord does not stop us from feeling negative emotions when we experience problems; we are human, after all. But his words encourage us to lean on Him after feeling drained and overwhelmed. He encourages us to surrender to Him so that we may find rest, despite the unfavorable situation we are in. He encourages us to trust Him even if everything feels impossible.

Problems we face sometimes make us forget about the presence of the Lord. Even worse, we lose faith in Him because we think we have been abandoned. When we are faced with a lot of challenges, we think that the Lord has forgotten us, that He doesn’t love us anymore. Our faith becomes shaken by these problems rendering us lost and confused. During this time, the presence of the enemy becomes stronger and wishes to snatch us away from God’s loving presence. This is why even though we are facing difficult challenges, we must remain strong in our faith. We will go through stress, anxiety and pain but never lose our hope and faith. It will be hard, but through prayer, our strength can be renewed because it is through praying that we are able to reach out to God for help. There is nothing more comforting than resting in God’s love and mercy. Only in His grace can we find the peace and rest we need.

As we always hear, God will not give us a problem we cannot overcome. God lets us experience different problems to strengthen us and be a reason for us to call Him, asking for His help. We might be facing problems now, but all these shall pass with the help of our Lord’s grace.
