Nowadays, crime, corruption, and unfairness have become immensely prevalent in the world. Lies, misinformation, and manipulation are commonly used to tip the scales and unjustly favor one side over the other. Through illusions of success and security, the devil easily awakens the greed and evil within people, causing them to stray from the path of righteousness. Even now, countless people still cry for justice after being mistreated and discriminated against for so long. Lucky are those who are treated fairly in society, and noble are those who continue to uphold justice and fairness even in the face of corruption and temptation.
With this prayer for injustice, we can pray for God to bestow justice and righteousness upon the world and to wash away all traces of crime and evil.
Prayer for injustice
Our All-Knowing and All-Seeing God,
You alone can see the world in its entirety, every creature and every action we do. You alone can see and read into the hearts and minds of people all over the world.
Thank You for watching over us and for bestowing upon us the gift of free choice. I am deeply sorry for the times when I took advantage of this precious gift and used it to choose my own personal gain instead of glorifying Your name. I know that I am not alone in making that terrible choice, and I pray that You will touch the conscience of those who need Your guidance in making the right choices.
As You sit upon Your judgment seat, I know You are aware of every sin, lie, and injustice we commit against our own brethren. With this prayer, I ask for Your unfathomable mercy as injustice continues to spread around the world like a plague, tricking people into following the devil’s footsteps. I beg You to save people from evil. Help them see the error in their ways and redirect them to the right path. I believe that it is never too late for an evil man to change, and I pray that You will look upon all sinners and criminals with kind eyes and a merciful heart, for they are only the devil’s victims, but they are more importantly, Your children. Scold them gently, O Lord, and do not leave them to fall prey to greed and lies. Give them a change of heart, just like how You once changed Saul into Paul, a man with renewed spirit and a cleansed soul, finally free of cruelty.
May You guide all leaders, lawyers, employees, and all those who are in need of strength and integrity as they make daily choices. Banish all evil from the world and let truth and justice prevail above all unfairness.
All these I humbly ask in Your Most Holy Name.
Amen.
Short prayer for justice and fairness
Great Father,
I kneel before You with a heart that aches for the immorality and sin that have plagued the world. Forgive us for our trespasses, for disobeying Your will. May honor, justice, honesty, integrity, and righteousness rule our hearts. I pray that those who have been wronged will finally have justice and peace of mind. I pray that those in power help us choose not for our personal gain but for the greater good.
Amen.
The Word of God
Intercessory prayer to Saint Martin de Porres
Blessed Saint Martin,
Look upon us with mercy and compassion. I know that my own sins have stained the purity of my soul, and I will not hide my wrongdoings from the eyes of the Lord. I only seek His mercy and forgiveness.
As injustice wreaks havoc in the world, I beg you to hear the cries of those seeking justice amidst evil and prejudice. We pray for fair trials, equal treatment, honest work, and honorable deeds. Let no greed nor immorality fuel the choices we make every day. With this prayer, I seek justice and fairness, which can only be possible through guidance. Many have suffered wrongfully because of lies and injustice, and I want them to finally get the peace they deserve.
May all who have been wronged and discriminated against finally attain sweet justice, equality, and fairness. Along with God’s will and the law, may you protect them from anyone who seeks to take wrongful advantage of them. Guide those who are in power so they can be stewards of justice and righteousness, fighting against injustice and inequality.
I pray for the wrongfully accused and for those who were unjustly stripped of their basic rights simply because of their identity. I pray for victims of crimes whose perpetrators continue to live freely without due punishment.
Saint Martin, hear our cries for justice, integrity, uprightness, and honor. Pray for us. Amen.
Further reflection
“Life is unfair.”
How often do we hear this saying? It can sometimes feel like everything is against us like the odds are never in our favor.
There are people all over the world who suffer simply because society deems them inferior. There are laborers who get taken advantage of simply because their educational background is not as high as everyone else’s. There are cries for justice that get tuned out simply because they come from hungry mouths that have nothing but gratitude to offer. There are people wrongfully sent to jail simply because they are facing someone richer and more powerful. There are people denied education, employment, and even basic rights simply because of their race, appearance, nationality, and culture.
We might have found ourselves in a situation wherein we got taken advantage of, making us think life is unfair. Although our feelings are valid, having a negative mindset and letting our emotions determine our next steps can bring us even more misfortune. Let go of anger and hatred, but never forget our rights. We have a right to seek justice if someone has wronged us. When no one else will stand up for us, the Lord sees the truth and will help us if we only let Him. Remember to offer this prayer for justice and fairness whenever we seek His protection and guidance in administering justice and punishments to those who deserve it.
Most of all, remember to uphold integrity, honesty, and fairness in whatever we do, and the Lord will reward us a thousandfold.
