Relationships are important to us as relational beings. It is a necessary desire that needs to be fulfilled. When left unattended, our sanity withers, and we can lose our emotional stability. Like a solitary withered flower, we’ll soon be carried away by the strong winds of anxiety and be covered with the darkness of loneliness. Our relationships with whomever it might be, help to maintain and nourish our identity as an individual person.
We pray for our relationships, especially for the various circles we belong to. They may be our relationships with our family, close friends, or hobby groups, or even casual acquaintances. We ask God to strengthen our bonds with the people who are special to us. They were given to us by God to accompany us on our journey toward actualizing His saving plan for us.
Prayer for strong relationships
Lord Jesus Christ,
I pray for strong relationships. I commend to you the people who are dear to me, who have changed me, and who you have sent to keep me company on this journey called life. My connection with these wonderful people has shown me how magnificent and worthwhile living life is. May you continue to strengthen my bond with them as we continue to flourish and to enjoy the gift of close relationships you have bestowed on me.
Lord Jesus Christ, I acknowledge the times when I neglected the relationships I have with the people around me. I may not have seen their worth before. I was not aware of Your presence within them. I was blinded by my own pride. I was anxious not to show my own vulnerabilities. I treated them indifferently compared to how I truly treasure them now. There were also moments of misunderstanding, which challenged the stability of our relationship. These moments have changed how I perceive the relationships I have with them. It also changed how I see them and how I see myself as well. From the bitterness of the experience of my relationships in the past, I continue to enjoy its sweetness filled with Your grace. You have entrusted these relationships to me, and I hope to become a better friend, or a loving companion, or simply a more thoughtful acquaintance.
May Your Spirit be continually present in the relationships and connections that I have. You alone can unfold and show us the meaning of our bonds. You alone can deepen and strengthen our relationships. In You, Lord Jesus, we can find our true selves. As I wholly share myself in a relationship, I hope to see You in them; to speak with You in them, and to be with You in them.
I ask this petition through our Lord Jesus Christ, the begotten Son of the Father.
Amen.
Short prayer for strong relationship

Lord Jesus Christ, be the love who binds us in our relationship. Strengthen the bond we have as we deepen our relationship with You and with the Father in heaven. Amen.
The Word of God
Owe no one anything, except to love one another, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery; you shall not murder; you shall not steal; you shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law.
Romans 13: 8-10 NRSVUE
Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.
Proverbs 10: 12 NRSVUE
Prayer for relationship to Saint Raphael the Archangel
O Saint Raphael the Archangel, the great healer of God in heaven, I pray for your powerful intercession to strengthen the relationships I have with the people special to me. The healing grace of God, which you pour upon the blessed souls, not only cures bodily ailments but also drives out demons that cause conflicts and divisions within a relationship. You successfully guided Tobias in his betrothal with Sarah, who was widowed seven times because of a demon who kept killing her husbands. From Tobias’ journey until their wedding ceremony, you safeguarded him and delivered the devil who was tormenting Sarah and threatening their relationship.
Saint Raphael the Archangel, may you also drive out demons that cause conflict and strife within the relationships I have with the people around me. May your light lead me through paths where I should walk. May I hear your voice guiding me to be more prudent with my words and my actions. May you fill my heart with God’s love in the relationships that I have and will build in the future; I wish for them to be overflowing with it.
Dear Saint Raphael the Archangel, may you always be at my side: to light and guide me, to rule and guard me.
Saint Raphael the Archangel, pray for us.
Amen.
Further Reflection
Relationships are truly vital in our lives as human individuals. It is a necessary good that fulfills our social needs. By strengthening of our relationships among our social groups, we can extend our connections and deepen our self-knowledge. God already knew that we could not survive alone. After God placed Adam in the Garden of Eden, He saw how lonely Adam was. Even when Adam was surrounded by and given authority to the birds of the air, creatures of the sea, and beasts of the land, he was still lonely, for none of them was a suitable partner or helper. “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper as his partner.” (Genesis 2:18 NRSVUE).
It is evident throughout the various stories found in the bible that God never leaves His faithful people. Recalling the life journey of Tobias, the son of Tobit, God intervenes in His relationship with his future wife, Sarah. God sent His Archangel Raphael, disguised as a human, to guide and to lead Tobias in entering a loving marriage with Sarah. Although she was plagued by a demon after being widowed many times, Tobias became an unexpecting blessing for Sarah, for she enjoyed a bountiful married life.
Let us continue to strengthen the relationship we have with all the people we encounter in life. One of who may have been given to us by God so that they may become our perfect partner in life. Some may also be angels in disguise sent by God to intervene for the betterment of our lives. They may also be the presence of Jesus, who accompanies us in our loneliness and consoles us in our brokenness. We allow God to be at the center of all our relationships. May we treasure the connections we have built with the most precious people around us. And may we open our minds and widen our hearts in knowing and establishing new relationships with the new people we meet. We’ll never know; they may be the answer to our prayers.
oh Lord i thank you sencerly my God and i have faith and I’m a believer my Father i now hand my situation over in your capable hands to restore what’s lost Amen
